Welcome to Four Knights Chess Academy LLC ("Four Knights," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and your enrollment in any of our classes, camps, tournaments, lessons, or other educational programs.

By accessing our website or registering a student for one of our programs, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or enroll in our programs.

1. Eligibility

Enrollment in Four Knights Chess Academy programs must be completed by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years of age.

By registering a student, you represent that you are legally authorized to make educational and financial decisions on the student's behalf and that all information you provide is complete and accurate.

2. Enrollment

Enrollment is subject to space availability and is not guaranteed until full payment has been successfully received.

Four Knights Chess Academy reserves the right to decline or cancel any enrollment before a program begins. If we cancel an enrollment before the start of a program, any tuition paid will be refunded in full.

We reserve the right to combine, reschedule, relocate, or cancel programs when necessary, including when minimum enrollment requirements are not met.

3. Tuition and Payments

Unless otherwise stated, tuition is due in full at the time of registration.

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Four Knights Chess Academy does not collect or store your complete payment card information.

All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and may change without notice. However, the tuition displayed at the time of registration will remain the price applicable to your enrollment.

Four Knights Chess Academy does not offer automatic renewals or recurring billing unless expressly stated.

4. Refunds and Cancellations

Cancellation requests must be submitted by email to info@fourknightschess.com.

Our refund policy is as follows:

  • More than 14 calendar days before the program start date: Full refund, less a 5% administrative and payment processing fee.
  • 7–13 calendar days before the program start date: 50% refund.
  • Less than 7 calendar days before the program start date: No refund.
  • After the program begins: Tuition is non-refundable.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method and are generally processed within 5–10 business days, depending on your financial institution.

If Four Knights Chess Academy cancels a class or program, you may choose either:

  • a full refund, or
  • a credit toward another available program.

Programs are subject to minimum enrollment requirements. If a class does not reach the required minimum number of students, Four Knights Chess Academy may cancel the class and provide a full refund or offer enrollment in another available program.

5. Attendance

Students are expected to attend classes regularly and arrive on time.

Tuition is based on reserving a student's place in a class rather than on individual attendance.

Accordingly:

  • missed classes are not refundable;
  • make-up classes may be offered when space is available but are not guaranteed;
  • make-up classes have no cash value and may not be exchanged for refunds or credits.

6. Student Conduct

We strive to provide a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment for every student.

Students are expected to:

  • treat instructors, staff, volunteers, and fellow students with respect;
  • follow instructor directions;
  • respect school and facility rules;
  • use equipment responsibly;
  • avoid disruptive, abusive, or unsafe behavior.

Four Knights Chess Academy reserves the right to suspend or dismiss any student whose behavior significantly disrupts instruction or threatens the safety or well-being of others.

Dismissal from a program due to behavioral concerns does not automatically entitle the family to a refund.

7. Parent Responsibilities

Parents and legal guardians are responsible for ensuring that students:

  • arrive on time for all scheduled classes;
  • are picked up promptly at the end of class;
  • have accurate emergency contact information on file;
  • notify us of any relevant medical conditions or accommodations that may affect participation.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, Four Knights Chess Academy supervises students only during scheduled program hours.

Parents remain responsible for their children before class begins and immediately after students have been dismissed.

When programs are held at schools, community centers, libraries, or other third-party facilities, students and families must comply with the rules and policies of those facilities.

8. Medical Emergencies

In the event of a medical emergency, Four Knights Chess Academy staff may contact emergency medical services if immediate medical attention appears necessary.

Parents or legal guardians remain responsible for any medical expenses incurred.

Staff members are not medical professionals and cannot guarantee the administration of medication or specialized medical care unless otherwise agreed in writing.

9. Photography and Media

Four Knights Chess Academy may occasionally photograph or record classes, camps, tournaments, or other events for educational, promotional, or marketing purposes.

Permission to use a student's photograph or video is requested separately during the registration process. Parents or legal guardians may choose whether to grant or decline this permission.

If permission is granted, Four Knights Chess Academy may use photographs, video recordings, or other media containing the student's image, likeness, first name, grade level, or chess achievements in printed materials, on our website, social media platforms, newsletters, and other promotional materials without additional compensation.

Parents or guardians may withdraw their consent at any time by contacting info@fourknightschess.com. Withdrawal of consent will apply to future use of images and recordings but may not affect materials that have already been published or distributed.

10. Intellectual Property

All content available through our website and educational programs, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, photographs, videos, lesson plans, worksheets, curriculum materials, puzzles, presentations, and other instructional resources, is the property of Four Knights Chess Academy LLC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Materials provided to enrolled students are intended solely for the student's personal educational use.

When reasonably possible, we may offer make-up classes, credits, or alternative arrangements; however, these are provided at our discretion unless otherwise required by law.

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Any changes become effective immediately upon posting on our website. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will indicate when revisions were made.
